Maestra Complementaria: Música
Alexandra es pianista, compositora, cantautora y maestra puertorriqueña. Desde niña formó su carrera en música hasta completar su Bachillerato en piano en el Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico. En dicha institución, también fue maestra de piano bajo el método Suzuki y “Every Child Can”.
Lleva 20 años enseñando música a niños y adultos. En 2019-2020 ingresó como maestra por primera vez en la Escuela Micael, encontrando en la educación Waldorf mucha inspiración para crear junto a los estudiantes.
En su faceta de "performera,” se ha presentado con su música original en diversos conciertos, también ha tenido la oportunidad de acompañar desde el piano a grandes artistas de la escena musical puertorriqueña, obteniendo importantes reconocimientos internacionales como Grammy, becas y residencias artísticas.
Le apasiona la naturaleza, le importa la conservación de nuestros recursos y la cultura. Tiene varios proyectos comunitarios para compartir, a través de la música, diversos conocimientos que ha ido recopilando de la cultura boricua. Actualmente estudia muy a fondo el conocimiento ancestral Taíno, lo cual le permite fortalecerse en sus raíces. Hoy está de vuelta en Escuela Micael con mucho entusiasmo de seguir compartiendo conocimiento y amor a la música con las nuevas generaciones.
Complementary Teacher: Music
Alexandra is a Puerto Rican pianist, composer, singer-songwriter and teacher. Since she was a child she formed her career in music until completing her Bachelor's Degree in piano, at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music. At this institution she was also a piano teacher under the Suzuki method and “Every Child Can”.
She has been teaching music to children and adults for 20 years. In 2019-2020 she joined Escuela Micael as a teacher for the first time, finding a lot of inspiration in Waldorf education to create with the students.
In her role as a "performer" she has performed her original music in various concerts. She has also had the opportunity to accompany great artists of the Puerto Rican music scene, on the piano, obtaining important international recognitions such as Grammys, scholarships and artistic residencies.
She is passionate about nature, she cares about the conservation of our resources and our culture. She has several community projects, to share through music, knowledge that she has been collecting about Puerto Rican culture. She currently studies Taíno ancestral knowledge very in depth, which allows her to strengthen her roots. Now she is back at Escuela Micael with great enthusiasm to continue sharing knowledge and the love of music with newer generations.
